My ride is automatic but I can switch it to stick. I prefer stick because it will keep you focused on what you are doing. I notice when Ii'm driving automatic i'm trying to do like seven things at once. When I drive stick I can't because I have to pay attention to the gear i'm in. Stick is better on gas and it's better to have if your car ever dies you can have somebody push you and just kick start it. Cool, you can't do that with automatic.
I think everybody should learn how to drive stick.

I prefer automatic because I would like to put my car in drive and just go. I don't want to have to worry about shifting gears and working with 3 pedals instead of 2. Plus I don't even know how to drive a stick shift....seems too complicating to me.

Dear Gentleman,
I like automatic coz I've had a stick shift for 8 years and I get very tired of downshifting, etc. on the freeways when there is alot of traffic, AND, that clutch has to be changed after awhile! a sheer pain all the way around!

Automatic all the way. I try to conserve energy. A stick shift tires me out.

Automatic. I actually drove a stick for years. But the traffic here is insane and the constant shifting was driving me crazy. I don't think I'll ever go back.

Automatics are easier to drive, but the stick shift gets way better gas mileage. I think the stick is more fun to drive and if you can drive a stick, you can drive anything.

Manuals are the days of the previous. they seem to be a demise breed. You do have extra administration, yet that previous asserting that it is swifter than an computerized isn't real anymore. The extra cutting-edge automatics such because of the fact the twin snatch ones, can rev-tournament without delay and shift a million/10 of a 2d with purely a flick of a paddle. they're additionally extra gas efficient because of the loopy style of gears at the same time with 7 speeds or maybe 8. Ferrari's do no longer even furnish instruction manual anymore. in case you're going for velocity then those twin snatch automatics are the thank you to pass. in case you're going for nostalgic experience then a instruction manual is effective.

Automatic. Too many pedals the other way! lol No seriously, I can drive a stick, but I'm really short and can never push the clutch all the way down without a block of wood attached to the pedal! LMAO!
Or was this supposed to be one of those "other" kinda questions, meant to look like its not? hehehe... Then I would say a stick!

Grew up with stick shift, fun to drive and less expensive to repair than automatics.

When I was doing a lot of driving in the hills, I preferred a stickshift. Now that most of my driving is in flatlands, I prefer an automatic.
It really doesn't matter, except once every three months, when I have to cross a mountain. No problem going up, but I sure wish I could gear down on the other side, to save brakes.
