if you had to leave a security deposit, that's gone. and if they deem it alot of money to remove, then they will come after you.. and since you would owe them money, they can use the police to hunt you down (usps mailing address change, dmv drivers license change)..

they like to clean repaint and get new people moved in within a day or two and if you throw them off schedule they can turn real mean real quick...

at least drag it to the dumpster..

Instead donate it to a local shelter or dav you can get a tax write off and you will be helping people out. If this is not possible put an ad in the paper for free furniture or post on a web site like craigslist.com for free furniture. Either way if you just leave it you will forfeit your deposit. good luck on your move....

I would go around the neighborhood and see if anyone needs any furniture and sell it for really cheap. Everyone needs furniture and when it is cheap it helps out us broke people. I don't see the issue with you leaving it in there, you would be just be helping out the landlord. Also you wouldn't get your deposit back either. Just something to consider.

I think you can't leave anything in the apartment once your lease is up.

Do you have friends or family who can take some of your time for a while? If not, you might probably have to rent a small storage space for them.

Alternatively, you can make a flee market or garage sales or .... donate it to charity....

You could, but leave a note on it saying you don't want it. That way they won't end up storing it in the vain hopes that you will come asking for it. However, if you're smart, you will contact Good Will or some charity, ask if they can pick it up. They will give you a receipt for your "donation," which in turn you might be able to claim some on your taxes, everyone wins.

Ask first. Don't screw yourself over. You never know what might happen some day. What if you need to come back to this same apartment some day? I'd just ask and find out. Call the office anonymously if you're concerned about discretion.

post a free furniture sign on ur apartment or call ur local goodwill or salvation army they will remove it for free, sometimes they will send someone to pick it up right away. then it may take them a couple of days, but 9 times out of 10 they will come right away

Don't forget about your security deposit. If you want it back then you would definitely want to clear the place before leaving. Just take a picture of your items that you're getting rid of and post it up on cragislist under FREE stuff. or donate it to charity, i.e. Salvation Army.

If they still have your security deposit, they would be well within their rights to keep all or part of it and charge you for waste removal. . . . Just haul the furniture out to the dumpster like everyone else.

I would ask to see if they know if anyone wants it , but its not that they dont know where you went its the clean up cost and disposal they can charge you and since they dont know where you went they will take it to small claims and turn it against your credit as a unpaid debt. I have seen it happen before , and has happen to me over $70 clean up bill because i left 2 trash bags , i ended up to have to pay it because it shown up on my credit report. good luck with your decision
