Pros
1. More time with your children.
2. You have more control over what they learn and what they are exposed to.
3. You get to pick the curriculum.
4. Your child has some say as to what he/she learns. If he shows an interest in space, you can focus on that.
5. Contrary to popular belief, there are many social activities just for homeschoolers (clubs, co-ops, sports teams, etc.). You also get special discounts to parks, zoos, and museums.
Cons
1. It is expensive.
2. It is draining on you as a parent.
3. It can be difficult if you are teaching more than one child because they each need specific attention and specific lessons geared towards them.
4. It is time consuming.
5. As a parent, you are responsible to make sure that your child is getting a good education. You are responsible to make sure that every subject is covered. You need to be intelligent and knowledgeable in every subject so that you can better teach your child.

Well, I was homeschooled for all of highschool. And I think it was wonderful. I finished a few years early by going really fast. And I was never tied down. I could go on vacations with my family whenever we wanted. And I can honestly say I learned more in homeschooling than I did and would have in regular school =)
And for those who say it will make you more shy and less sociable are wrong. It just depends on the person you are. Because I was only homeschooled for a small part of my schooling, and I was very shy when in public school, and am still kind of shy. It's just the way I am. No amount of public schooling made me more outgoing. But I have cousins who were homeschooled for their entire lives who are very outgoing and social. So obviously, homeschooling had no effect on their social skills. And also, school only made me get into more trouble. What with peer pressure and all.

Well here we go..
Pros
1. No state testing
2. Active Environment
3. Easier schedule for parents
4. Can Be Much More Challenging
5. No pressure from peers, homework, etc.
Cons
1. Your child will become less sociable, shy.
2. No interaction, friendships
3. When or might returning to a school, it's harder
4. Your child might find it harder, more challenging than the regular 'living room' classroom.
5. Physical activity to, taking up sports, clubs, etc.
I know a girl coming from being all home-schooled, now she's entering high school,
and I was nice and talked to her, but she was
soooo shy, and I was just being friendly.
She seemed uneasy, and very nervous, scared.

Pros
-Control of education
-No uniforms
-no morning rush
-flexible
-Control social situation
Cons
-You control your kid's very small social situation. Not healthy.
- Not many parents are as trained or as knowledgeable as teachers are in their particular subjects
-Not exposed to the real world
-Easy to slack off
-Boredom
Personal Note: I really am not a big proponent of home schooling. Ya, I had some bad experiences in school, but I am so better prepared for life. Pre-k through 12th (I remember every year) of school was the greatest decision my parents made for me. Now I'm off to USC and couldn't be happier.

I'm not a big fan of homseschooling. School is not all about learning about math, science, and history. It's also about learning how to deal with people, make tough decisions, and learn how to be social.
