Yes......but my typing prowess is still abysmal.
The only thing that catches fire is my keyboard in a futile suicide attempt.

Improved typing and spelling. I always use spell check to stop bad spelling habits.

I try not to use abbreviations too much, so I'm sure it's helped my typing.
