I read about the case of the man throwing his wife off the balcony because he couldn't pay her medical bills any longer and wondered what other extremes people have gone to....... anyone know of similar cases?

Growing up we were really poor. My sister had terrible teeth.
Long story short- my siblings and I went to foster homes, my parents to prison.
My younger sister went to a home that took her to the dentist. She got braces. But over time her foster parents would not take her back to the dentist to get them removed. My sister waited two years longer than she should have and finally when she was 17yrs. old (I had my own apartment by then) I found her in my bathroom with a fork, pulling her braces off..one by one.
All I could do was cry.
To me, this was extreme. Could you imagine how much that hurt her?
Oh, and once when I was a kid...I fell on a rock and made my front tooth turn black so my father laid me down on the ground and held me there while pulling the tooth out with a pair of pliers.

Yeah..people do strange things when they feel they need it done and there are no means to pay for it.
I believe that everyone should be entitled to health care!

"Charity will take care of you?" that's a laugh. I have $1800.00 in medical bills a month, the Medicaid? I can't get, would you believe I make $3.00 over the limit. I was told they have to draw the line somewhere.
My drugs, for my heart and a bone disease, are $600.00 after I pay my co-pay. That leaves my wife and I $900.00 a month to live on, my rent is cheap, $400.00 a month, my electric and gas come to $150.00 as an average.
That leaves us with $42.00 a week for food. This does not include gasoline for trips to the doctor, 38 miles away. Spinal injections, three times a week for three weeks, at $60.00 paid up front. now were down to -$24.00 a week, this is every other week.
Now we come to the bad part, the laundry soap, the bath soap, dish soap, things like this.

Oh, we live in the land of the free all right, I know, I gave two years in 'Nam and was wounded twice. I did go to the Vets once. After waiting for six hours a day for two days, I was told it would be two years before something could be done. I gave up. Although I had a hernia that I could hold in two hands like a ball, it wasn't life threatening.

What else do you want to know about us old farts that helped build the country and give all you young people the freedom you have?

....I think death ranks up there with most extreme.I know of more than a hand full of folks that have passed because they had a condition that required medication, and had pretty much resolved themselves to the fact that they maybe checking out sooner then they hoped....I imagine that quite a few folks out there have medical conditions that may or may not be treatable with medical attention but will fall to the side and more than likely not counted when they pass. But I think throwing your wife over a balcony is murder...what if she lived?....hmm

at the start, i actually do not understand whose concept it became to start up this wellbeing Care scheme! If it became Obama's, he could have taken drugs while he became in college rather of despite the fact that radical time table he had!! His college information are sealed, so as that tells me, he did not try this properly in college. If he were the kind of super student, do not you think of he could have been crowing approximately it rather of hiding it!? comparable is going for Pelosi and Reid. I quite have suggested this earlier, and he nonetheless hasn't replaced his techniques, while Obama makes a speech, he's not conversing to the folk. and that i desire he might quit employing the word WE!! we at the instant are not amused! No, i think of we can get blamed for this great "errors" for not protecting the religion!!! we can be the UNAmericans who revolted against our government's desires!!! i ask your self how they are going sense while all of them step off their pedestals and connect the loose united statesa.? in the event that they are attorneys, they are going to discover it not ordinary to make a residing remote from Politics! I definately does not hire anybody of them!

I read a book that had one of the characters commit a misdameaner when they had need of medical care. Say a tooth ache. they would get the tooth fixed while in jail. Or a flu shot....
