evidently that Jamaica will take a right away hit, even nevertheless it additionally did a pair of years in the past with hurricane Ivan whilst it became closer to Jamaica than hurricane Dean is now, and the eyewall stayed offshore the full time. Jamaica isn't that super an island and it may well be subject-free for the path of Dean to wobble north or south somewhat so as that Jamaica does not get the worst of it. And, to the answerer that thinks that Jamaica is already being hit, as of 0015UTC August 19, in trouble-free terms extreme clouds from the some distance outer bands of Dean are passing over the eastern factor of Jamaica. I only checked the aspects at Kingston and the wind is enormously much calm. it is going to likely be many hours nonetheless earlier the aspects starts deteriorating there

Dean will more than likely effect Jamaica In a couple of days I believe. But with 145 MPH winds right now if it hits Jamaica head on, there will be damage and power outages prolly everywhere I would hold off a few months so things will get straightened out from the aftermath.

Sunday at 2pm (tomorrow). It is set to hit the south coast and do the most damage to Kingston. Montego Bay is better protected but who knows. Negril may not be in good shape. I am booked at the Iberostar Montego Bay on September 13th. I guess I will miss this one but who knows if another will be on its way by then. My sister has friends vacationing there RIGHT NOW!

i don't think it will hit Jamaica because everytime there's a hurricane heading for the island it always turns away. i can bet u money that Hurricane dean won't directly hit Jamaica.

Yes I do believe Jamaica will be gone by then. Dean is going to plow right in to it at a cat 4 and then head straight for Cancun.

Probably. Hopefully, it won't hit Jamaica because when you go there will be damage when you go if it hits.
