The first what came into my mind when looking at your question was "empty wardrobe".

Well, that is the first thing that comes to mind, honestly. But, almost immediately after that, I think of the feeling I had as my father’s body was lowered into the ground. I think the reason this comes second is because I didn’t feel true emptiness then, it was more satisfied, though it was still empty, rather than the longing I had before.

Reading my answer to your question over, I’m slowly starting to realize how depressing I can be when I talk about my father. Perhaps I should stop thinking about him altogether.

I should delete this while I have the chance... Maybe later.

Wow. Empty. I think, empty of...senses, thought, (memories/dreams), love, friendship, pleasure. Oh, empty as a blank slate! Is it possible to be alive, & to be empty?
