I find Texas and Texans as the butts of many jokes these days.

Yes... and the funny thing is that he is really not even from Texas. He was born in Connecticut, raised in Washington D.C, and went to prep schools and college in the Northeast. He spent about 7 years (like from 3-10) in Texas until he was an adult.

Even his accent and "country witticisms" are fake... neither one of his parents talk like that... where did he get that from?

I am from Texas.... I am from 6 generations of a Texas ranching family... believe me NO ONE talks like Bush... no one here actually uses his phrasings except cartoon characters.

He is really an insult... and listen, I don't have a problem with someone adopting Texas but don't make a fool out of yourself by overdoing it. You embarrass the whole state by doing that, and Bush has done that.

Texas has had a bad reputation for years...even before Bush but Bush has compounded the problem. What comes to mind when you say Texas? Greed, ignorance, crime, poverty. The fact that Bush is from Texas, would not be a surprise even if I had not know it. I'm not crazy for Texas and even less crazy for its influence on the U.S.

I have spent most of my life living all over the entire state, at almost every corner and in-between. I will tell you firsthand that it is Texans themselves that give Texas a bad name, not a Connecticut-born president.

By the way, not everything bigger here in Texas, except maybe, big trucks, big egos and big fat azzes. LOL

It has been my experience that Texans are gracious, good people.

Herr Bush is also personable. His problem is that he is a psychopath who has sacrificed our sons and daughters in the military upon the altar of a war that never needed to be fought in Iraq for his personal gain. I say this as a vet who has been there, done that and bought the T-shirt. War should be a last resort and not the first resort of a crazy politician who wanted to further his twisted agenda and financially reward his cronies.

Texas is also the home of famous Democrate like Ann Richards, Sam Rayburn, Henry B Gonzales, Jake Pickle and LBJ. There are plenty of "W" stickers on the big SUVS in my neighborhood, but I don't have one.

Bush, by the way, went to prep school (like his father did) in New England. He tried (and failed) to get into UT law school before settling on Yale (where his family donates tons of money). He was only partly raised in Midland.

I didn't like him as governor and I dont like him as president.

Nah, Texas and Texans never really had a good name to begin with.

Now don't do that...many of us HATE him. We are freedom loving people, and Bush is anti-freedom.

Besides, he isn't really a Texan.

Edit :

To the guy above me: NOPE, IT WAS JUST THE ONCE. HE FOOLED THE REST OF THE COUNTRY INTO RE-ELECING HIM*, SO DON'T BLAME US!

*The authenticity of the results are questionable at best

No - I think the people who are getting bad names are those who bad mouth him for doing what he told you he was going to do and sticking to it - even when everyone seems to be turning against him - He is still telling you the same thing!

Can Americans not stand the Truth???? He has not lied to you - but the Democrats have convinced you he has!!! If he had don't you think the Dem's would have impeached him! Of course they would as payback for Bill!!!!!
