What is this thing they have with being toothpick thin? And,it's always the same female celebrities day in & day out,Britney Spears, Paris Hilton,Lindsay Lohan,Angelina Jolie.Even though I work as a cashier in a local supermarket and see them all on the covers of all the gossip magazines we sell every day,I don't buy them because I consider them a waste of money and time .But, those magazines have been around for years.
But,what's this ridiculous preoccupation they have with not eating and being too thin?Do they like being "hounded & harassed" by paparazzi?Do they like the negative publicity that they get?Why do they even have any audiences? What's the deal?

People hook onto one celebrity and don't let go. And the reason they're so thin is called airbrushing. There's a lot of controversy going on about the false images they project.
Most celebrities tolerate paparazzi as a necessary evil but why they have audiences is beyond me. People apparently want to read about them.

I know right. Usually because all the stick-thin girls e.g Nicole Richie,Lindsay Lohan,Paris Hilton are always doing something promiscuous or braking the law in some way.
I think its really sad how girls as young as 11 are looking at the covers and going ` I wanna look like that ` . God,those girls cause alot of eating disorders. I think for those celebrities any publicity is good publicity. Alot of the lil girls do look up to them though which is horrible. They definitely should put more inspirational women like figures on the covers. Anywayz i think you make a good point.

They are under a lot of pressure to be that size because as soon as they put some weight on magazines are quick to note this and then people mau scron them for this. The same people are always on the covers of magazines becuase people are getting so obsessed with them it's just not funny lets see some new stars who aren't stuck in rehab or jail or are so thin they could snap!

God knows. I hate this 'celebrity' culture. I find it so sad that people would rather focus on which film star has put on weight or which soap star is getting divorced, than their own lives & 'real' people around them. Is reading about Charlotte Church's weight really more rewarding than helping a friend or neighbour? If you feel bad about yourself, do something about it (join a gym, take up an evening class, meet people), instead of bitching about others.

I know what you mean! Seriously. I don't get this obsession with thinness. I totally understand wanting to be FIT, but that doesn't mean you eat a cucumber for breakfast, dinner, snack, lunch, and exercise for 2 hours 6 days a week. It's INSANE. I'm actually happy with my figure (i do feel i have a few flaws, but overall, i've gotten complimented on my figure and guys have affirmed what type of body they want... believe me, it's far from stick thin) but i have girl friends who are DYING to be a size 0 and complain to me when they can't fit their size 0 pants 'anymore.' i just wanna STRANGLE, STRANGLE, STRANGLE them. I dunno how people can buy this stuff... and be interested in their diets.. I really don't.
It really is a waste of time/money. and you're right, it's always the same old faces.

The media seems to have decided that these are they people to "media stalk", and unfortunately the magazines sell when the have them on the cover. The Media has also glamorized thin. When Nicole Richie had meat on her bones, they said she was fat. Now look at her.

First of all, they all look like the walking dead. As for why they are ALWAYS on the cover is beyond me, I can't stand it, it drives me insane.
It is as if they (magazines) think we can't get through a day without hearing about Nicole or Paris, or Brittney....
Give me a break!

I don't know but I am glad someone else feels the same way. Would someone shove a hamburger or two down their throats?? I think those too thin people look like crack ho's ... it's nasty. And it's such a poor image to project upon our kids.
