Bad grammar, spelling, punctuation. It makes me feel as if they are stricken with laziness or just extremely uneducated.

Although I detest bad grammar, I'm not as picky as a lot of people here on Y!A. I think many people forget that some members here do not speak English as their first language. I think those that don't do a pretty good job. I am fairy fluent in Spanish as a second language. but I'm not that great in writing it. It bugs me more when people on here will answer someone's question who didn't use proper grammar and rudely point out the bad grammar instead of answering the question. I think that is just as stupid as answering a question that is offensive and reporting it. I think if someone has a problem with another person's question they should just skip it and go on to another one instead of being rude about it.

I totally agree with you!!! It drives me crazy as well.I actually worry about the coming adults, another words teenagers, that post on here. About half of the time I have no idea what they are writing. I have said in the past, Maybe texting is some what to blame, but are these kids learning any grammar in school? To think that they are in high school and can not even make a complete sentence is really very sad for this country!

I don't mind misspelling, once and awhile. The Russians do it all the time. But bad grammar, I hate- especially swearing.

As long as they make sense I don't really mind it. Of course it is much better to read and listen to more learned people, but there are times when less literate folks have comments really worth hearing, and we cannot deprive them of the chance to put forth their ideas just because they are not literally speaking, competent enough.

We have a saying in our language (which is Persian btw)...

"The listener has to be smart" ... that means... it is not important if the one who speaks uses wrong language (or grammar and spelling as u say)... it is important if the one who is listening is smart enough to understand...

It doesn't bother me. After all it's their problem. If they don't learn proper grammar, they are the ones who are going to have problems in their jobs.
What bothers me is when people come here to offend others for no reason.

It depends who I am talking to. If I am talking to my best friend on here, it doesn't matter because I know what she is talking about. But, if I am talking to someone who wants to sit there and act like they are the smartest person in the world, AND they are supposed to be professional, it irritates the hell out of me.
