OK, serious question this time:
You have a chance to kill Osama Bin Laden, but in so doing, innocent people will die with him, so what to you is an exceptable number of innocent lives lost, to rid ourselves of this terrorist? 1? 10? 100? 1,000? 10,000? 100,000? 1,000,000? 10,000,000? 100,000,000? 1,000,000,000?

All right Wolfie you have touched a nerve on here tonight! I'm going with my first thought on this and my gut feeling... cause I would kill the bastard without a second thought! If the innocent people were Americans, I would turn and walk away, but not before I put the gun to his head and whispered a little something in his ear, words only for him. If the innocent people God dam* it Wolfie I can't answer this question... sorry

First of all, I would have to be convinced that his death serves a higher purpose at all.

As far as I can see it, killing anybody only leads to more violence from their followers. Sorry for being so completely un-patriotic, but that's what I believe.

Killing this one person would probably generate more hatred and more terrorist attacks from his community. And that's all.

And if, in addition to that, more innocent people were killed, no matter of what religion or nationality, it would generate grief and probably hatred among them, too.

This is about the same question as your four-in-a-boat-one: It would depend on the probability of putting an end to terror by killing 1, 10, 100....

But chances are that in this case, there is not only no garantee for putting an end to terror, but a rather high probability to add fuel to the flames (what an appropriate metaphor, don't you think?)

And what really scares me is that people who wouldn't hurt a fly are so hurt, so enraged in this matter that they accept the idea of "collateral damage"... How come we are talking of an "acceptable number of innocent lives lost" at all?

sorry but i would so about 500 at most. They killed many people (9/11) for no good reason 4 or 5 hundred to get rid of some one who will kill many more people hundreds or thousands i think it is worth the sacrifice

No more than ten.

Maybe I'll just let him go and nab him when he has no innocent people with him. Btw, how many innocent people do you think he's killed already?
