I can think of two lies. World is flat and the earth is the center of universe.
If a lie is something that's collectively experienced by all conscious beings, the likelyhood of being discovered increases as time reaches infinite. But in most cases, that's not the case.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fairies.
The Loch Ness Monster photos.
Barry Bonds baseball records.
All are lies that came to light.

The truth is, if a lie goes undetected, then no one knows and will NEVER know that it was or is a lie. As such, there really is no argument.

The instances above were proven untrue by people who came forth with the true story. Bonds came to light because he was forced to testify at a hearing being held to expose steroid abuse. Thus, it was he, himself that came forward.

In the other two instances, people came forward to tell the truth in there elder years. To set the tale straight before they passed on.

Another tale is Sasquatch, or Big foot. It has been proven a lie also. When caught in a lie of this type, people will usually tell the truth. In this case, I believe it was the guy that wore suit.

Well, if no one knows about it, it may never be detected, but it is often said that the truth always comes triumphant. But there's the site http://www.blifaloo.com/info/lies.php where you get a series of gestures and facial expressions characterised by a liar.
