My contract just renewed so I get to pick out a new phone.

Any suggestions?

Does anyone have the chocolate phone? Do you like it? I'd love to get an iphone I wish Verizon had iphones. But since they are priced so high right now I am going to wait to switch providers.

Define "best" before you diving into anything.

I've heard only great things about the Nokia 6315i. Some call it the best flip phone Verizon has to offer.

The LG enV is fine, but it's expensive and has a big feel to it. The Chocolate VX-8550 is another good one, often referred to as the gem of Verizon, but then again if that's what you're looking for then you're going to get a good deal.

Check out www.phonescoop.com--we're buying new Verizon phones tomorrow (our 2 year update), and it looks like we're going with the Nokia 6315i. It's great technology and you don't have to pay over $100 for it.

And remember that whatever you buy, if you buy something "fancy" then you'll pay for it. To have live access to your email will cost an extra $20/month. To use the V-Navigator will cost an extra $10/month. Like I said, set what YOU want in a phone and go from there.

What sort of capabilities are you looking for in a phone? If you do a lot of texting then you would probably like the enV easier to text with. If you like flip phones I would recommend either the enV (especially if you're into heavy duty texting) or the Razr. I have the Razr and do texting on it with no problem. Right now online if you renew your contract for 2 years the Razr is only going to cost you $9.99. What a deal!

My daughter has the 1st generation LG Cherry Chocolate and she loves it. She's 14 and doesn't have any problems with texting, etc. However it is a slider phone and in no way is similar to a flip phone. My daughter only had one problem within the first 2 months of having her chocolate and unfortunately Verizon's policy for warranty phones was to replace it with a refurbish phone which I refused to do since we paid $170 for this phone. So I contacted LG, sent it to them and they said they fixed it. Apparently, the keypad was defective so the phone would dial on it's own, scroll through the get it now feature, etc. - it was possessed! But LG did not repair the phone, they actually sent us a brand spankin' new LG Cherry Chocolate at no charge! Once we got the phone back, she used it and has had no problems whatsoever. A lot of people will tell you that the Chocolate is very sensative and that the "new" chocolate supposedly is not that sensative. Well you can change the sensativity level and that is what we did. And like I said, once we got a replacement for the "lemon" there hasn't been any problems at all.

Online it shows the 1st generation Chocolate phones at $49.99 with a 2 year contract and $79.99 for the 2nd generation with a 2 year contract. The enV is priced at $99.99 online with a 2 year contract. Another phone you might want to consider is the LG VX9400 which is priced at $99.99 online with a 2 year contract. It's kind of cool as it has a song identifier on it, the screen swivals so you get a widescreen effect. And I think right now if you order online Verizon has free shipping, but you might want to double check to make sure.

Hope some of this information has helped you. Wasn't quite sure what you were really looking for as far as capabilities in a phone other than you asid you liked the flip style phones.

Good luck to you!

i just bought the strawberry chocolate phone from my boyfriend's brother and even after dropping it in a bowl of milk it still works! one thing that sucks is that the camera doesn't have zoom but when taking videos it does. i like it so far even though a couple of the buttons don't work(only because of the milk). I really like the En-V though, its good if you text a lot.

well, my bro has the chocolate, and its not that good. It scratches soo easily and the edges are scraped up, and he barely goes anywhere with it. I like the enV, even tho i dont have one.

Um, the Chocolate is kinda lame.

The LG VX8300 rocks the casbah, though.
