Okay, i just signed up for theblackparade.net, i keep seeing the term "thread" so what is a thread?

As evilpettingzoo said, a thread is a continuation of posts based on an initial post.
One way to look at it is each and every questions asked in Yahoo Answers is a potential thread. If nobody replies to the question - the thread ends with the question. If 20 people reply, there are 20 replies to the thread.
A thread does not have to be a question either. Depending on the content of the group you are in, a thread can be any subject or comments posted where others have the opportunity to reply.
As others have said, this was not a stupid question. I once had to ask what lol was when I first started chatting online.

A thread is an ongoing list of messages about a particular subject or topic. Like if other people answered this question it would they would all be part of this thread.
