US, The West, Russia, China.... and Israel? What has Israel got to do with this? They are a tiny democracy in the middle of malevolent dictatorships, but Russia lobbing a missile into Georgia, or China flexing its muscles has next to nothing to do with Israel. What is interesting is that the world is growing a bit more balanced, as Russia's oil wealth and China's industrial strength allow them to challenge America and the West more directly. What America will do to respond to Russia and China is both simple and complex, they will grow the American economy so that it is increasingly difficult for Russia and China to compete economically as well as militarily, while also applying pressure to Kosovo and North Korea to keep their masters on their toes.
All in all, if China and Russia were the only threats America and the West had to face, we would be a lot more sanguine than we are...

Russia and Iran aren't really threats, more of rivals to the western powers. Russia has found amazing economic prosperity due to their oil and have even managed to come out of their debt. Iran isn't a threat yet, mainly because they don't have nuclear power or nuclear weapons yet. Once Iran gets nuclear weapons, I believe the rest of the countries in the middle east will want to have nuclear weapons. Russia and Iran, I really am not worried about, I am worried about a nuclear weaponized (can I use that term) Middle East. Once the Middle Eastern countries have nuclear weapons, and lots of them, then the Western powers may be in some REAL trouble. Weapons may be handed off to groups like Hezbollah who currently reside as a State Within Lebanon. This is the truely terrifying scenario, at least to me.

zivien.

What has Israel got to do with this? A lot !
Israel and the defence of Israel is the reason for the war in Iraq. This is not MY opinion but the opinion of respectable journalists and politicians see the links.Israel and supporters of Israel have done a fantastic job in covering this over.

Ignore the brash style of link number 2 below, in any case
the White House senior adviser staff list is public information and no secret. The list applied at the start of the Iraq war and has changed very little.( "Honest" Paul Wolfowitz has moved on)
