I shall try to confuse you some more.
The actual name for the June Bug is May Beetle-(order Coleoptera).
Mayflies(order Ephemeroptera) come out earlier or later depending on where you live in the U.S.
They only come about in the winged form to reproduce, the weather cannot be cool or dry.
They arrive predictably in our area of Missouri around the end of April every year.
Sadly Mayflies are on the decline.
Bats and other species depend on them as a vital food source.
Of all the Mayflies, my favorite is the Coffinfly.

Mayflies in Florida before and after May..never in May..lol

It depends on the part of the country you are in.
In New England Mayflies come out in June but further south they come out earlier. So the person who named was in an area where they came out in May.
