You can try car wax. Wipe outward with it on a soft cloth. My youngest is heck on DVDs!!! If it is very deep I haven't had any luck with anything!! They make little machines you can put the DVD in but they don't work so don't waste your money! Good Luck!!

If its radial (from the center outwards) it shouldnt be a problem, tho if its inline with the circle of the disc then that could cause a problem.
A good trick is to smear a bit of washing up liquid (yes the fairy stuff you use to wash your dishes!) Just a little bit on your finger and rub it into the scratch. It acts like a filler and helps the laser focus on the disc correctly =)

If it's a deep scratch the best bet would be to find someone that has a resurfacer.. (or disc doctor if nothing else is available).. and use that.. and then just use filler for it .. even toothpaste will work normally..

You could try a dab of alcohol on a soft lint free cloth! (like tee shirt material) Move in circles, and be sure to dry immediately. Good Luck!
