hello..
ok not for sure or anything but I cant think of what else it could be...an hr ago when i went to use the bathroom and wiped there was blood on the tissue. Kept wiping and thick bloody chunks (sorry) would be on it. I called the doctor but she told me not to go in of course cuz im not having any contractions. Took a shower and when I was cleaning myself there, it was now brown. Not having much pains but some minor ones in my lower back nothing serious tho.

Does this mean that I lost my mucus plug? If so, from anyones experience how far till you went into labor.....

Thanx for your time

Well from experiance I can tell you that yoou can lose the plug a couple weeks before actually going into full labor. What it means is that your cervix is beginning to open. For a first pregnancy (I'm guessing) it can take a week or more to go from closed to 2-3 cm. I took 4 weeks with my 1st.

But anyway it does sound like you lost your plug. Also monitor the pains in your back. If they tend to come in waves and are constant I'd start timing them.

Oh and with my #2 baby I didn't lose the plug until I was already at the hospital. I was induced.

I wanted to get the show on the road so I decided to walk. Well, I ended up walking all day. I had a small amount of mucus discharge so I assumed it was my mucus plug. No contractions and no back pain. The next day, around 4 in the afternoon, I lost the REAL mucus plug and almost immediately went into labor. The contractions were only 10 - 15 mins apart. By midnight they were 4 min apart and by 11am the next morning my daughter was born. I hope all goes well with your little bundle. Congrats!

Yes, it sounds like your plug is gone, but that really is no indicator of when exactly you will go into labor, some women start hours after the plug, some never lose their plug, some take a week or two to start contracting.... I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but that's the way it is...Those last couple of weeks and days stretch on forever! It will all be worth it though- I promise

Oh yes baby is on its way. I had my 1st baby at 38 1/2 weeks for dont freak out. I say you have about maybe 2 days left and the cramps are mild labor pains. Thats the way labor start but of course you know if your water breaks its for sure time. Good Luck Mommie

I lost my plug 4 weeks before going into labor. I was 50% effaced and dilalted to 1 two weeks before going into labor. I was 100% effaced and dialated to 2 for 7 days before going into labor.

News flash, lower back pains CAN be contractions. No one decided it was important to tell ME that of course. I started having them just awful one night, and then my water started like... dripping, and I wasn't sure what was up. I had just gotten out of the bath, so I thought maybe it was just water that had like... you know, flowed in there or something. The back pain was just awful, and it was almost midnight. We ended up researching it online and finding out that this WAS a possible form of labor. Then my water finally broke for real, and we headed to the hospital!

Just keep an eye on yourself, if you notice you back pain worsening and lessening in waves, then go in because it really might be labor. Also, obviously, if your water breaks, (and you'll know when it really does, cuz it just gushes) go in.

Some women it can be a week until they deliver. Just relax.....it's sounds like the baby is on the way with your lower back pain. Back labor!

Good luck and let us know when the bundle of joy has arrived.

Thats it!! You may not go into labor though for up to 2 weeks or it could be in a few hours. My sister in law lost it and had her baby the next day. Its getting close!! Congrats!!

losing your mucas plug doesn't mean ANYTHING because the body can make another one at any time

AlSO NONE of the wives tales or "suggestions" on to help labor start WORK!

NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM WILL WORK BECAUSE THE BABY WILL COME WHEN HE/SHE WANTS TO COME!

ONLY a DOCTOR can FORCE the child to come BEFORE he/she is READY!!!
