Yes they are super insulated and would save you tons on heating/cooling.

They are really well made and not at all how they sound when you say "its a house made from hay bales"
I went away fo the weekend a few weeks ago and I stayed in a lovely little hay bale cottage in a nature retreat.
There was nothing wrong with it and it was real good with keeping the heat in as it was cold outside.
These are real energy efficient and enviromentally friendly houses - dont knock it til ya try it.

My First thought is no. But I once saw an alternative living house made from tires. You could not tell. They simply used the tires as a mold for the concrete. The house looked Adobe. So maybe I would.

I agree with Garfield They do make houses out of hay. Although very uncommon, they are very efficient for cooling and heating.

I might if I didn't have anywhere else to live. It would be better than a cardboard box. With my luck though, a cow or a horse would come and eat my house while I'm sleeping.

I've sure given it some thought. But I was thinking along the lines of stacking it along the sides of a mobile home. Talk about insulation! But if it ever caught fire!!!!!!

Actually there is a house in my town that does use straw for insulation - its all in the walls and stuff. But what about insects? Yikes!!
