Wow, haven't thought about those in a while. If I remember correctly the fastest k6 series is the k6-2 at 550mhz. Good luck finding one of those though as they have not been produced in years. They are not worth more than $5-$10 now so don't overpay.

you need to read your mobo's specs about what cpus it is capable of supporting. maker's website has these.

DxDiag might find your specific mobo maker and model number.

offhand, my guess is that computer is so old that it isn't worth upgrading ... a newer used one would be a better choice.
