Less bureaucracy in the insurance industry. Less insurance industry altogether.

For those of you who don't know - many doctors and hospitals alike will give you a break if you pay cash. Some doctors charge less because they don't accept insurance or Medicaid.

Insurance is the killer. People should be encouraged to self insure, just as they are encouraged to plan for their own retirement instead of depending on Social Security or company pension plans.

Man this is a hard question. You would have to force lower prices on doctors and medicines. And Im against that. I believe in Capitalism. But the Big Medicine Giants have a hold on Doctors (Kick-backs, perks, etc.), and politicans. I just dont see it happening without a Socialistic Program (im vomiting in my mouth) being in place. Which will most likely happen if we get a Dem. for president. And will not hurt the Medicine companies because volume will go up.
Sorry if I didnt answer to your satisfaction.

Do away with the current insurance driven system.
it would eliminate a crushing load of 'administrative expenses` and reduce the outrageous prices for services.
No one should charge a few thousand dollars for a routine proceedure taking an hour at best.

Reforming the Judicial system.

Frivilous lawsuits are the cause of exorbant malpractice insurance.

The real problem is that bad doctors are protected and good doctors are not getting what their worth since they are paying their salary out for malpractice insurance and have to charge more to make up for it.

Edit: I have to add this I thought it was to funny. We live in a society were we have to pay for food, water, shelter, transportation, protection... And some people want to Socialize medicine due to they have to pay for their own healthcare.

Anyone else think their priorities are alittle out there and incredibly unreasonable.

1. Reduce the quality of healthcare to the standard of the rest of the world.

2. Get congress and all other politicians out of the business of legislating healthcare.

3. Stop expecting complete cradle to grave healthcare from employers. Let people buy insurance for catastrophic medical occurances and let them pay ordinary medical costs out of pocket.

SOCIALIZE IT!!! Create a FREE, UNIVERSAL healthcare system for all. That's why we have one of the lowest mortality rates in the world now, because people cannot afford healthcare to take care of themselves. What a shame to live in a society where we actually have to PAY for healthcare! What a shame.

the same thing that could cure so many other ills in the system...a true revolution!....people carrying torches to the white house doorstep and demanding an immediate return of the government to the people, and start all over with truly equal representation...of the people, by the people, FOR the people!

it's one of my fondest fantasies!!!

SOCIALIZE IT OF COURSE!....if our government can spend billions and billions on wars/invasions, it could damn keep it's own citizens as healthy as possible AND educate them as well!
