Hi,
The many museums of Paris are fascinating gateways to knowledge, creation and human adventure.
There are the"greats" which give the visitor the opportunity to see some of the greatest works of art ever created by human genius. There are the "classics", the former artists' workshops..

There are lots of fantastic places in Paris.I will name my favorites: _Notre Dame and the hole region near it till Pompidou center (check the small streets at the down side of the river, there are a lot of restaurants, greek, maroccian, french, japanise well priced and fantastic walk!) _ Rue Haussman and Rue Auber, where you can find the biggest stores in France gathered together (Lafayette, Printemp,Benetton,C&A, H&M) _the region of Arc de Triumphe with cafes and restaurants (there is a very touristic road, I think, St.Germain with fantastic walks and shopping till 23-24.00!! and safe) _Trocadero. There are many many more...
About where to stay, a good location is Monmartre (but not near Pigalle), where you can find a room to 80Euros.
I know also two hotels in rue Mazagran, which is very central with good market and shops -3 Metro lines-2 buses, but not for going out after 21.00-22.00 (to 60 Euros/night).
