I live in westchester,NY and i would like to know where i can donate clothes and stuffed animals to peru. i treied the red cross but it says they cant except goods from individuals for a variety of reasons so i want to know where else i can donate so they can go to peru

You may want to hold off on that. There are many American families that have been affected by Tropical Storm Erin in South Texas and from the looks of the track of Hurricane Dean many Gulf Coast residents may be in trouble again.

If you wait just a week or so you may be able to donate those things in the United States.

Get a PenPal in Peru on the internet. Then you can send your items directly to her. How wonderful that would be for her. I wouldn't bother with the stuffed animals but I'm sure she could use the clothes.

Donation of goods to oversea disaster relief are not encouraged.
The cost of shipping the goods is too high.
Donations of money are best. The disaster can purchase goods locally, thereby reducing costs and have more for the disaster.
