My 1st grade class took the bus to a dairy. I got to see cows, and smell them too. When we got back to school, the art assignment was to draw something about our field trip. I drew a cow. Donna copied me. I got mad! The teacher told me that to be copied is the highest form of flattery (in 6 year old terms). From then on, I wanted people to copy me. LOL

Grew up in Albany, New York. We got on a bus and rode to the museum in the city....VERY exciting! Then we did it again the next year...and the next....all the way through 6th grade! By then we knew every exhibit by heart, and were totally bored. But we loved thoses bus rides and sang our little hearts out! 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, When You Walk Through a Storm and the Titanic....those were our favorites.

We didn't go on bus trips. I rode the bus all the years in school. But we did get to walk up town for an ice cream cone! We did this for 1st to 4th.! And then later at the Christian school, we took a bus to the local ice cream shop, and I and another teacher bought. I enjoyed it, and returned so the seed that was planted in me fruited.

We didn't to school trips in grade school. Had school release time where you walked to church for lessons on Weds. Every other Friday, we walked to the high school for swimming lessons.
I don't remember going anywhere in high school either, except for Senior Day, when we went to an island resort area.
Oh, yeah, once took a bus to another city for a school choir competition. We won.

We went to the science museum. I bought two cool items; a wax fish that was molded as you watched. And a glass globe where 4 black and white squares spun around when you put it near a bright light or the sun.

We didn't have field trip when I was in first grade. I really don't remember them until high school and that was with the band.
