What do you mean repair? Has it quit reading miles or what?

Take it oput and see if you can determine why it is not working. You can send it to an instrument repair shop. There are some that only do automobile odometers. You could also just go to a salvage yard and buy one there and plug it in. If you can find a 86 speedo in a lot.
Finally as a last resort, take it to the Volvo dealer and have them replace it with a new one. good luck.

it is illegal for a shop to tamper with an odmeter.you can replace the instument panel and document mileage or find a certified odometer repair center.
