Anyone here find it funny how the media constantly portraying men/husband as dumb, stupid, dopey and goofy, while the wife/women is smart and intelligent?

I find it funny because, in REAL LIFE, it is actually the complete opposite

What do you mean that is the complete opposite. I have found that neither man nor woman behaves in the way that situation comedies or any other genre of programming refers to married couples.
But for you to infer that women are indeed dumb, stupid, dopey, and/ or goofy blatantly displays your dumb stupid dopey and goofiness.

No, I don't find that funny at all. Wish there was some way of making a complaint about it because women have had to deal with this kind of discrimination and put-downs in the past, so how is it right that men are being portrayed as idiots in media?

Oh crap, I forgot that patsy answer that is applied to women who speak out, 'misandry is a mental and social disease'.

Besides, I like Futurama, even though the show puts down both men and women equally(which I don't agree with. Remember Leila when she was getting married to the last remaining cyclops?) at least it's fair and funny to boot.

I think the media (television and movies) do not give a realistic view of men OR women....or family life. And yes, the current stereotypical household on T.V. now features "stupid men" and "smarter women"...lol....just a current trend. It was once the opposite. Neither of which is an accurate depiction of real life, and note that most of these stereotypes are being shown in a "comedy format".....not meant to be taken seriously.

A intelligent hard working and witty guy, who isn't gay..would basically intimidate women..if he had a real moronica of a wife, it wouldn't be funny or believable in the slightest..and women would be all up in arms about it all..

This isn't a recent thing and has gone on back to the early eighties with shows like Rosanne..and probably decades before btw.
Mork and Mindy had this sort of formula..

It's important to be equally yoked. You couldn't be more wrong, in reality, it isn't the opposite. Take your sexism elsewhere. Women can be smart and so can men. That's just the way it is. The media is tainted, end of story.

I find it appalling and wrote to RONA and complained about their recent spate of ads that portray men as useless buffoons who could find their rear end with both hands. There are men and women who may be like this but the majority of men I have known are quite adept at working around the home and should not be stereotyped as couch potatoes. This is insulting to men and should be stopped. Write to the sponsors of these spots and complain that men she be portrayed realistically and not made the butt of jokes.

What media source do you get your information from?

I don't find it funny to call or portray anybody as dumb...but I think this is equally done to men and women? Maybe I haven't paid attention or noticed it. I'll pay more attention from now on.

The thing I have noticed is that men are becoming more wimpy in movies and TV, even Harry Potter and his male friends are wimps. I like a man that is strong, yet gentle to women.

I do not find it funny. However, the people in MY life are not the complete opposite. Irregardless of sex, color, national origin, there are smart and there are dumb people, nice/mean, whatever.
