Truly, it depends on whether they abuse it or not. If they don't post ANY personal information, set their profile to private, and set everything to the most possible private setting, get a complicated password, and don't add people you don't know while monitoring your profile often, then they don't have much of a risk. I know when someone hacks into my account, your profile will look different, you can't sign in with your password, or those weird "This user removed their profile" things come up in 'edit friends' etc. Then you contact myspace immediately, but this usually doesn't even happen anymore. If you check all these things frequently, and do all this stuff, nothing unsafe should happen. Even with the most private settings they should still never post any personal info. How can this all be unsafe? Monitoring and checking things all the time will prevent bad things from happening and you are fine as long as you don't abuse your privileges.

Kids no...too many child predators...I think that teenagers around 17 and up should be able to have profiles on there.Any body younger its a mistake. Even if you are 17 or older you should put your profile as private, that way only friends can view it.

it's as safe as any other site on the internet - there are always risks when you let your kids use the internet, no matter what website they are using.... predators are EVERYWHERE - not just myspace

child predators could find them if the kid is stupid enough to post their personal information/uneducated about the internet...
and you have to be like 14 to join...

NOT! It's a sick need to prove you have friends in case a popular kid checks your page. If they check, it's just to get ammo to harass you with, so why give it to them.
