He never explains this. I read this part several times. I think it is a bit hookie. I think at the time Harry needed the wand since he didn't have one. So when HERMINE disarmed Malfoy, Harry picked up the wand. Which to me means the wand should belong to Hermine.
I understand what the person above me wrote. But to me if the wand was buried with Dumbledor then Vold. should have the wand. Harry shouldn't be able to take just any wand from Malfoy and that count...unless the Malfoy switched the wands and had kept Dumbledors. And Dumbledor was buried with Malfoys. Anyway, I think it was very a very tricky and kind of convoluted way of letting Harry beat Vold. but I guess I really don't care. I was happy with the outcome.

Because he remembered something Voldemort probably didn't know -- that it was Draco that disarmed Dumbledore. Plus, even if Snape was the one to kill Dumbledore, he never overpowered him since the murder was an agreement between the two, it was more a favor Snape did to Dumbledore. So, the Elder Wand was Draco's.
My guess is Voldemort never found out how that moment went in detail, probably because he didn't care about anything else except what Snape did. And none of the ones who witnessed the events felt it important that Draco disarmed Dumbledore.

In the 6th book when Dumbledore was on the tower
Draco came and "overpowered" Dumbledore.
So the Elder wand had found a new elder
He figured that out because Voldumort thought snape was the true owner of the elder wand because he killed Dumbledore but that was planed. When he saw the memory. And Harry was there under the invisibility cloak when Dumbledore died. He saw everything.

Because Draco was the one who "overpowered" Dumbledore. Voldermort thought the elder wand would go to the one KILLED the owner of the elder wand, who was Dumbledore at the time, but he was wrong. The owner was Malfoy because it was Malfoy who took the wand from Dumbledore... Harry figured that out because he was there in his invisibility cloak and so he saw everything but of course no one saw him because he was invisible.

Draco was the one who disarmed Dumbledore. Olivander told Harry that you didn't necesarily had to kill the previous owner of the wand but Voldemort, with his twisted and violent mind, guessed that you had to kill the previous owner to be the new master. Sucks for Snape.

Harry witnessed Draco disarm Dumbledore. Then in Kings Cross Station, Dumbledore explains he meant Snape to have it. Harry put one and two together and ended up with the right answer.
