My dad bought a 2006 Ford Mustang, for about $19,000. It has about 200 HP, and is really fun to drive and mod. It also has about 20 mpg. There's also tons of aftermarket parts if you love that kind of stuff. Check it out.

There is no car that has cheap insurance for a 16 yr old. Even Daddy's Eldo Demo Limo will cost you a fortune.

Stay away from 2 seaters. anything that says Sports Car. Look around and see what you like. You might be into tuners, and I might like Mustangs. Get something about a year old say like an 06. It will save you a bunch of money, and even the insurance will be somewhat cheaper. Once you have a few miles under your belt, then you can start throwing the mods to it. You can crank out a lot of HP from a 6 cylinder engine. Finally, stay away from convertibles, insurance will jump up when you tell them that.

good luck to you.

Since your 16 years old stick with a Honda. I drove a honda Del Sol Si when I was 16 and trust me they wrap up plenty fast if your just looking to have a little fun with your car. Don't worry about big engines or turbos till you older.
