first, joeanimal...how can you be so ignorant? kayas? riotin?

jeez, where is you go to school? i think you mean "chaos" and "rioting"...

and yes, there would be some of that...at the beginning...but eventually, the rioters would have to find some way to feed themselves...and jobs in every city in this country go begging every day for someone, anyone to PLEASE come and work! just look at the want ads...i thin welfare should be cut off immediately to anyone who can walk upright.

just cut it off... the welfare cheats would be out in a few days, chasing the illegal mexicans back across the border, and our tax coffers would overflow.

Well, I don't want to eliminate it! There are too many people who are honest, hard working (when they have a job), & hate being on Welfare! For many people this is a last resort, they really want no part of it but they also want to feed & house their families. There are many who have gone on Welfare for short periods of time, until they can find a job or no longer have to stay home to care for an ill relative etc. I don't want to take this away from them. They just need a hand up; I'm more than happy to have a system that will help them get back on their feet. Of course there are some who have abused the system but that doesn't mean that all have done so. Put them on the streets? How heartless!

Stop importing cheap labor to help corporations keep wages down so that they can increase their white-collar salaries and their profits ... let the market determine the pay based on the supply of american labor...this is a freemarket society....right? . Stop the flood of illegal drugs into this country and create an environment where people believe that they can live out the dream if they are willing to get up and go to work every day.

That would stop welfare to the poor...stopping the corporate welfare system in this country that costs taxpayers far more would require the crucifixion of a few corrupt politicians.....an action i wholeheartedly support.

Jobs are the only answer to eliminating welfare...and i don't mean minimum wage jobs that you can't afford to feed a mouse on let alone your family, i mean jobs at companies like the ones that keep closing up shop here, laying off all workers, going to a foreign country, setting up shop paying those workers "rice" money, and continuing to sell their product here for big $$$ to the ones they laid off or fired in the first place just so they can cut back on labor costs.
Start taxing the snot out of these companies when they import their goods back into the US so their products are too expensive to sell here, and they will stop moving their factories and jobs away.
American Owned, American Manufactured, American Made.

The most effective way to cut back and/or eliminate welfare is to stop handing out all those multi-billion-dollar corporate welfare programs! Corporations are in business to provide goods or services, employee workers, pay their fair share of taxes, reward their shareholders and make a profit. If they can't do that without the government hand-outs, they deserve to go out of business.

You could do what the Corporations are doing with their benefit programs. Wean people off of them slowly over a period of time. For instance, if you are born today, you are not eligible for certain benefits. Over time there will not be anyone eligible and the programs can be eliminated.

But the welfare mentality needs to be changed so that people have a desire to get educated, trained for a job and willing to work hard and go with the punches when life belts you. I don't sense that in our culture at the moment.

Since we are in desperate need of public works projects, make recipients of aid if they are physically and mentally able required to perform governmental work after training by Public Works agencies. Once they have performed their commitment for 3 years require them to apply for non-welfare jobs.

Incentives, increase the wage factor, install self-worth, national pride, national socialism, affordable education, teamwork. Something this government lacks and shows even less in regards to the interests of or towards the American people. It is just a matter of logical and rational thinking. Another two things lacking in this administration.

Self sustaining work camps that offer job training and a limited time allowed to reside there. No luxuries, you work or you live on the street. This of course will not apply to those with genuine disabilities. Having 7 kids is NOT a disability.
