No other country even comes close to the USA. The whole world’s economy is dependent on that of the USA plus no other country has the “reach” militarily that the USA has. That is the root problem with the current anti-Americanism. In the background, many countries fear the USA will alter its historical course and become an empire and little could be done to counter the threat. Anytime the USA acts unilaterally, these fears come to the front burner with the resulting anti-Americanism. The difference now is the lack of a competitor so the fears are greater then would be the case 20 years ago. The American people will support a major war if attacked but rarely support any wars that we get into where we were not physically attacked by that country unless it is over quick. I think Europe (especially) is being silly in caving to this fear of the USA turning into the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany.

Well I sure wish I could make your day and say the Philippines, but it is still the good old U.S.A.! What truly separates us from the others is that we could destroy the world and rule over most of it, and yet we have this wonderful system of checks and balances that keeps this remarkable representative Republic shining like a beacon for the entire free world to see! China, Russia and many others only wish they could be US! I am proud of my country regardless of what all the Prius driving tree huggers may say about me.

Russia, China, United Kingdom, France, Israel, India, Japan, North Korea, Iran, andPakistan are all superpowers. The United States is a "hyperpower" and hands down the strongest militarily speaking. China is likely to take the lead in the later part of the century.
