i just got my notebook and i dont know for how much i ave to let it charge for the first tme before i use it? its a hp pavilion tx1000

Keep it plugged in while using it. When you unplug it, it will tell you the percentage. Also, look in the owners manual that came with the computer. It should tell you. I dont think these are like camcorder batteries that need charged for 24 hours prior to using. Also, they are normally pre-charged at the factory.

You shouldn't habe to charge it for that long. Look in the manual. I don't know especially for your laptop but a light usually flashes or blinks when it is charging and stays on when it is done. I would just say wait for that light.

When it is charged , the charge light will go out. When it does, it is fully charged. Just plug it in and use it now. good luck.
