Random Access Memory or RAM is basically temporary storage that your computer puts information in that it uses a lot. The faster the RAM and the more of it, the faster it can access more data rather than having to retrieve it from the Hard Drive.

So if you are playing a computer game, it will store and read data from the RAM, which it can do much faster, and make the gaming experience or whatever you are doing flow much smoother.
