A urine test usually works about the time you expect your period, or a few days before.

A blood test is more accurate and works as soon as implantation occurs, usually at 8-12 days after conception.

5 days before your period but the results will not be 100% accurate. The further away from your expected period ,the slimmer it is to get an accurate reading. If you decide to test 5 days before your period, the best results will be first thing in the morning where you have the highest HCG level. my suggestion is to wait the day of your missed period. Good luck and God Bless.

There are some out now that are suppose to detect the pregnancy hormone a couple days before your period is due, but mine only showed positive when I was 5 days late.

They will tell you on the box, but most are very acurate starting on the first day of your missed period. You can use them before then, but you could get a false negative.
