I live in a small town in AZ. We are dealing with the fear of snakes... They keep showing-up around the house.
Is there any way that we can stay safe & make them go away!!!
some people told me we can use fresh mint - like a spray & others said there is a kind of grease that you can use around the house from outside.

There is no guaranteed way to stop snakes. There are a few things to try, first get rid of their food depending on the kind of snake it could be mice, rats or insects. You can also try a snake repellent (link below) this one seem to have the best rating. Just remember snakes eat pest so if you get rid of the snakes first then you will have pest. Also please do not kill them, they are just looking to survive, and more than likely your house was built where they have lived for centuries. Use barriers not death.

Have you determined what kind of snakes you are dealing with? If they are a non-poison type-you would benefit by ignoring them.
Snakes will be drawn to a place to cool off, a place to stay warm and a reliable food source. They also like to colonize and will stay where their needs are met.
You can attempt to lure them away by building a "snake-appealing" new home with piles of rocks, bricks etc far from the house perimeter and physically moving them as you see them to the new location. It may take time.
When we first started building and living on our property we were over-run with "deer mice" in everything and couldn't keep the population down. A snake family moved in under our well-house and has been effective for over 10 years-NO MICE!!
One is over 4 feet but I am glad to see them still around and on the job. I don't like traps or poison so they are truely welcome to stay as long as they like.

OHHh ,
I don't like snakes either. Try moth balls they are supposed to help keep them away. Put them all around the outside of your house, I would put a few right by my door and other places that I walk by.

I've heard that applying powdered lime around a house will keep the snakes away. But I have not tried it.

There is a product called snake away that is supposed to repel snakes.

I never had this problem but there are many web sites with repellents.

i think its time to take that mid-evil ax out of your closet you told your mother you would be careful with and put it to some use.
