My ex & I broke up a week ago & it went as well as any break up could. It's been painful at times, however we've both been moving on with our lives & eventually we want to be friends. Prior to our breakup I had been planning his birthday which included putting down a sizable deposit for a romantic resort weekend, after we broke up I tried to get my money back, but the resort refused, saying that it is non-refundable & non-transferable. I emailed my ex explaining the situation & included the links to the resorts website so he could look for himself. I asked him what he wanted to do, he emailed me back saying he really wanted to go with me, that we would have a great time & that he was really excited about it. I'm not reading too much into this, it’s a cool trip, anyone would be excited to go, also, we don't hate each other, but how does one conduct onesself? A 3 hour car trip, private romantic wine-filled dinners? Couples massages? I want us to have fun without anyone getting hurt.

Do just that go have fun and don't read anything in to it.....Maybe you should have asked a girlfriend to go with you after you broke up instead of e-mailing him and telling him about it.....oh well though just go have fun..

Do you want him back? Does he want you back? These are the questions that need to be answered before you leave, Why not see if there is anyone else that he wants to take.....
Why not see where this leads? Or you could just lay it on the line and tell him where he stands with you,. and use this as a way of getting this friendship on the road,,, so to speak

LET HIM KNOW FROM THE START THAT YOU GUYS ARE JUST GOING AS FRIENDS AND NOT THING ELSE..WHO KNOW YOU GUYS MIGHT GET BACK TOGETHER AND GET MARRIED YOU GUYS COULD AVOID THIS..TELL HIM STRAIGHT UP FROM THE GECKO HOW IT IS....YOU GUYS WENT YOU OWN WAY KEEP IT THAT WAY. OR YOU COULD TAKE YOU BEST FRIEND OR WAIT I FORGOT DINNER INCLUDES WINE.WAIT YOU CAN'T DO THAT THEY WILL THINK YOU GUYS ARE BISEXUAL OR SOME THING.BUT TELL HIM YOU DON'T WANT TO GET HURT AND THAT YOU WOULDN'T WANT HIM TO GET HIS HOPES UP.
