yes yes i know men are all bad and so on .......
But really do you want men to treat women the same way the treat men.
Ive seen women expload on a guy who dare open the door for them. Without a doubt i would say that these days women are discriminated aganist however most is positive discrimination
i suppose its why alot of men like asian women which are 'submissive' (which they are not just have a different culture)

What we mean by equality is that we want to get paid the same amount you do for doing the exact same job, more when we do it better. Some women mistake a man being polite by opening the door as a sign that you think they are fragile and helpless. I open doors for anyone who has their hands full, or simply is coming towards me as I exit. I can't just let the door slam in someone/anyone's face.

I must correct you on a few things: All men are not bad, just closed-minded control freaks, men who think of women as objects , and men who think we are weak/helpless. In addition, the whole asian comment is ridiculous. Any man who needs to be with a submissive woman is very insecure.

A woman's idea of equality is being treated the same as a man. Why are we so focused on gender issues in Canada and US. What about equality in other countries like Africa, Brazil or Afganistan. Equality means able to get an education-why are so many girls not educated? Because of that they end up being married really early or doing stuff like prostitution to earn a living. This isnt equality. Also able to make decisions in a family-have equal say like how many kids to have. Why should only a man decide how many children to have. Its the woman having them. BTW not all men are bad and not all women are good. Men and women are equal. They are just different in different ways. They need eachother to survive and eachother to make up for the talents or qualities that they lack. This is true whether people like it or not. So stop sexism

-my point about the countries-i just meant why doesnt anybody show concern about other countries where there are alot of gender issues. Sorry Brazil was a bad example. Good example would be india where infanticide has caused uneven sex ratios leading to more men than woman in the population= more patriarchial society= prefer traditional gender roles= less opportunity for women and also more crime against women

Women should be treated the same as men with regard to equal pay, equal consideration, professionally and personally...Women should be given the same opportunities as men. Naturally there are things that most men can do that many women can't and vice versa. The opportunities should be equal among men and women however and each individual, regardless of gender should get a shot at it...whatever 'it' is....I'm from Wyoming aka The Equality State. It doesn't really pertain to anything....I was just on a roll there for a second...

The vote, equal pay, equality before the law, freedom of speech and assembly and all the other things we take for granted. Freedom from sexual harassment, sexual violence and discrimination on the grounds of gender and/or sexuality. Control over one's fertility. Actually I cheated, I'm a bloke, but I could take a guess that many women would give a similar answer to above.

I'd like it if everything were EQUAL.

Exactly equal. Any privilege men get, women get, and vice versea. Which means if a woman wants to serve in front line combat, she can. But a men should get the option to back out same as a woman would.

BTW, what do you mean in Brazil J K? Brazil actually has VERY high education standards and is quite the free country. And you just said Africa was one country, BTW.

well well well, isn't it just very easy for you to say how women are treated while you have never expereinced being a woman. I don't care about opening doors, paying for dinner, blah blah blah. BS. What i want is equal pay for what i do, recognition for my contribution at work instead of making the male the face of the company, equal consideration and treatment when i ask for a raise instead of saying, how dare a woman ask for a raise. You can open all the doors you want, doesn't make one bit of a difference! At the end of the day, what i care about is what i do, my contribution to this world and getting recognized and adequately compensated for it despite my gender.
Also in my line of work, it is much harder to even get considered for the position as a female than a male. So not only equal pay and equal recognition but also an equal opportunity to be in a position to make a difference and contribute to this world given the same qualifications

Oh BS, not all men are bad, just like not all women are bad(except for me this morning) so stop playing that card.
Not all women 'explode' when a man opens a door for them.
I've never seen any woman do this and have never done it myself.
Besides it appears that it isn't about equality anymore, it's about fairness, so I've been told by some men and they're right.

When discussing women, equality means the same opportunity regardless one's sex. EX: Women have 'overly equal' opportunity (due to affirmative action) to apply at for any job and are paid equal to men in the same company with the same education, tenure and hours worked.

When discussing feminism, equality means unilateral decision-making ability for women with no responsibility.
EX: Reproduction. The right to opt out of pregnancy will never be an option for men. Women can abort and also have, thanks to feminist meddling, the right to abandon an infant in the US, no questions asked. They may hide the pregnancy and have the baby adopted by others or she may keep the baby and demand that the father, who has no options beyond conception, pay her an excessive amount monthly for two decades for her decision to give birth.

Oh, yeah! I, too, have had women yell and cuss because I dared open a door for them!
Women's idea of equality seems to mean they will walk all over a man.

Equalty? Its kinda obvious, I want to be treated equally. That means I want to be treated on the SAME standard as men, no better no worse.

I don't mind if someone opens the door for me, as long as they'd do it for ANYONE and not just a woman. I open doors for people aswell.
