Yes, the continue playing. You notice that when they go to commercials they are usually changing sides, setting up the field after a field goal, waiting for kickoff, an timeout, and injury on the field, etc. There's usually some sort of delay that gives them some time for the commercials to play, though every once in awhile you'll miss a play or two when they start up again early.

You really wanna know what happens during a TV commercial. I'll tell you. Nothing.... Absolutely nothing. The players wait around and talk while they wait for the commercials to be over. The referee times the amout of time it will be for the commercials, then when there is about 40 seconds left he blows the whistle and the players huddle up and then they cut back to the game and the players are walking to the line of scrimmage. It's just very boring during the commercial breaks at a football game.

hmmmm..... probably the USA, because, apart from england, they have the most players in their squad that i've heard of (howard, beasley, edu and altidore- i know.... get me lol), i would've supported france (not quite as much as a scotsman in a kilt but frenchman are pretty fit) but they couldnt keep their hands to themselves (i was actually rooting for the rep of ireland after scotland were out grr it's been a bad campaign) so it's USA or italy like last year or brazil like the time before that but really..... A.B.E and i'll be happy lol =D bonus q- levein has impressed me more than i thought he would, he knows the right team, has given players a fresh start (we need boyd etc in the side and are too thin and bare without him), he got the win against the czech rep and has been much more promising than burley. with the addition of promising youngsters (thomson-hearts, wilson- rangers, cairney- hull, etc) coming through the ranks, showing quality and improving older players in the push for places, we can only improve on what has been a dismal few years for the side and hopefully qualify for euro and beyond.... ahh now i'm dreamin =)

There is a called time out on the field. Sometimes at games it can be annoying! The good thing about them is at home it's a mad dash for beer or margaritas chips and goodies and plop your butt down as the game resumes! Come to think of it I've see people do that at games as well!

No, they don't continue playing. Instead most of the players will do some mild exercises or stretching while they are waiting so they will stay loose.
