Doesn't it? Soon law abiding citizens will be sent down.

It is not merely legal in the UK now, it is compulsory. This is why we have a police force - to stop honest citizens impeding criminals in the legitimate pursuit of their business. So if you try to prevent a vandal, for instance, vandalising something, the police will come and arrest you so the vandal can get on with it in peace. They won't, of course, arrest the vandal. And if you are being burgled, they will give the burglar a couple of hours to get away before coming round to check that you didn't hurt the burglar in any way. That's because criminals have "human rights" and law-abiding people don't.

Crime is not legal. Popularity does't change bad to good. Actions are to be judged by their effects but not on their popularity.

For some its is, Britain and America's invasion of Iraq was a crime but in the eyes of the law legal. So i guess it just depends on the criminal.
