Depends on what they were writte with. Pencil and chalk expire quickest. Then comes ink. Other forms expire at different intervals. The voice on the other side of my soft pillowy wall said messages written of urine tend to expire fastest. He said that's why he was stuck on that island for so long. People kept finding the bottles, but they couldn't read the messages. They finally had them traced to put an end to the harassment and he was placed in the room next to mine!

Yep, they sure do. Look on the side of the bottle, you'll see the expiration date stamped there :-)
