Room Improvement on a Budget:
First, CLEAN IT! donate, give away or toss anything you don't want or need - be ruthless in everything except stuff Mom might want. Store what you want to keep but not use in box in closet or under bed.
Then, clean cobwebs, wash windows, dust, vacuum.
Wash beddings and curtains if necessary.
1] buy cheap frames, with or without 'collage inserts' [ can make your own in colors that go with room ] and group family, friends, vacation, school events, etc.
2] buy a eucalyptus wreath or swag and decorate in flowers in color of room, or your favorite ones. put on wall with least color, or wall with least decor.
3] add one or two candles in holders - color of your room, or white in a favorite scent. [ never leave candle burning in room unattended, hide matches if little kids are in your home. ]
