Amy, you are way to sweet to turn into a meanie, and never give anyone the satisfaction that they got to you. Growing up, I stood my ground, plus my friends were big ole Italian boys so I had no problem. Over 14 years ago I started practicing martial arts, and I got the training I needed to defend myself but even better we were taught how to resolve the conflict before it went physical. The highest skill in a martial art is to learn to fight without fighting. That quote came from Bruce Lee, and another famous master in Japan. I was angry yesterday myself for no reason, other than letting the bad overcome. When I see myself in conflict like that, I took a break, and focused on other things, and just let go, and wow, what a difference. Think positive, let go of all the negative, and you will be fine.

Hi, Sweetie. In reverse order: Do you really want to become that which you dislike? No. You would be terrible at being Mean Amy. Really you would.
I didn't get beat up as a kid.I was very lucky; I know that. All children have a terrible time at one point or another; I was not an exception. I had a good home life. My Mom was ALWAYS there for me; this I think makes a huge difference...(Even though I was sure she "didn't understand me" from time to time.) Looking back, I think the problem was she DID understand me. I was taught to always do the right thing. I was taught that I knew the right thing; even when it wasn't convenient. I was also taught to stand up for myself. I am the only one who truly knows what is best for me. I take as much "crap" as the next person, but I have my limits. If you choose to mess with me for the excercise, you'd better be in very good shape. }:> Oh. No one "understands" that, not even the ones being mean.

As a kid, it wasn't a problem when I delivered a straight right hand into the mouth of a neighborhood bully...he was being escorted home from school be friends after that....I am pleasant, but will draw a line in the dirt and problems will occur if someone steps over it.

I lost some and I won some when I was a kid. Now as an adult I don't keep score and I don't get into fights if there's no need. Too many wackos with guns these days.
I don't want you to turn Mean.

We had a few bullies in our neighbourhood...one was my cousin so no escaping him...there were two "crazies" guys with serious problems right from the get go in Kindergarten...even then you knew it was genetic once you got a gander of the families...but I just stayed clear of them. My cousin on the other hand, lived two houses down...he was a (insert foul name) then and still is now...I see what his daughter puts up on face book and think to myself what goes around comes around indeed.
I am nice to those who deserve to be nice and I can be your worst nightmare if I need to be. Lets just say the wise know which side to teeter on. LOL

Bad Amy!!! LOL
No whacking, no being mean and fight nice!! Rules of the house for those who don't want to turn out like the ones who are making them mad and hurt. Never give them satisfaction of being like them. In the end, you will only feel worse for lowering your standards to theirs.

they didnt exactly beat me up, but they said some brutal things that hurt me emotionallly. idont get why bullies have to take their anger out on innocent people. i know they have a hard time, but they need to seek help, rather than make other people feel inadequate about themselves.

Never. I knew how to handle myself and everyone knew it. Lately, I've noticed I get mentally beat up and I'm not gonna take it anymore.
