Million Dollar Baby was the most recent. But the idea that we would have to go all the way back to Silence of the Lambs sickens me though. We are talking actor slash actress right? Because Russell Crowe's Gladiator Oscar win coupled with the Best Picture win puts them next, and a year before that Kevin Spacey's great performance in American Beauty got him the same Cred, Best Actor in the Best Picture. Now there were a few that we missed. Mel got a couple of other spots for Braveheart but no Best Actor creds. If he would know what he knows now saying Freedom that much he could have been a President. Of course you can't forget about Forrest Forrest Gump. Best Actor Best Picture 94 I think. Then we get to Silence of the Lambs folks.

I believe it was Silence of the Lambs in 1991...it also got Best Director and Best Writing. It's called the "grand slam" of the Oscars

I am assuming you wanted the last one to win both best actor and actress

pretty sure it was silence of the lambs, but the oscars are pretty much BS if you follow the industry. a nod means nothing; you're still at the mercy of the wolves, if you don't play your cards right.
