I always have fed my Oscars bugs and worms from my backyard. There is the possibility that the grasshopper could have gotten into something, but I have never had a problem or heard of someones fish that has died from this. My bet is that you'll be ok to do this, and the Oscar will love it.

I wouldn't. You have no idea what chemicals the grasshopper has been exposed to (whether someone wanting a weed-free lawn or a farmer wanting a good crop this year) and if kills your fish, it would make you sorry. I'd err on the side of caution.

it would probably eat the grasshoppers, but it isnt a good idea. the grasshoppers can get into all sorts of things you do not want your fish to eat. he could have pesticides on him or any number of diseases. it isnt a good idea to give your fish any food that you do not know is clean and safe, it could make them very sick if not kill them.
