There are places I would not want to go, but it saddens me more to know those places have people just trying to survive every day.
So while I wouldn't want to go to those places, maybe if I could make a difference like the peace corpse I would go anyway. I don't know but I am not at that point in my life. I do highly respect the people that do go to those places and do make a difference.
Places like Ethiopia, Semolina and many others as these.

Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Indonesia. Don't like the violence or the culture (especially the attitude to women, requiring the hajib etc). I love the food but I can cook it or get it here anyway and know it won't give me the tummy wobbles.

Mumbai, India. My sister went there and said it was very depressing, seeing how poor people were and their working in the middle of the night to make a buck, heaps of rubbish just sitting around. It would make me feel too sad, really.
