Is there any way to artificially 'age' brass and copper to look old?

Is there a way to give them a patina?

You can easily accomplish this in a short time by exposing the metal to a diluted acid solution. The acid will cause rapid oxidation, which creates the effect you're looking for.

make sure its a weak acid, dont want it oxidising too rapidly
