I'm starting about now. Stores are just changing over to the more seasonal items. I will not go into a store or mall after Thanksgiving. If I do it is for casual shopping and I enjoy it much better. Try it, trust me you won't do it any other way.

I want to try to get my mom to start shopping with me now. It is best to do it all year round though. For instance you remember how many times you are shopping with little money or no intent on buying gifts and you see a few nice things and you say oh Marion would like this. Bob would like that. Well when you ACTUALLY GO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING. Either you have no idea what to buy for Marion and Bob or you simply cannot find those great gifts you saw months back. So Start now this year you know buy one or 2 things every month or every pay check. then when Christmas comes you wont have to spend a whole lot buying 6 or 7 gifts at a time. Hope this helps

Depends. For regular merchandise there is no rush because the expense average +/- as with or without holiday sales. If you wish to surprise with a special luxury item with higher price tags? There may be bargains with +% off price that would be best purchased right at the time of the sale. That is also a good way to save and be free to relax while everynoe else is in the holiday rush around shopping. Thats when I do it. So it is just bargain hunting then the Christmas eve is suddenly here and the gifts are already to be wrapped and put under the Christmas tree.

I usually start before Thanksgiving and only go shopping after that because I hate the Christmas shopping crowds.

I starting putting money aside in August, then I look around the seasonal stuff when it hits the shops at the end of September and then I usually start buying presents and things after Halloween.

Well let see I made one scarf that will be a Christmas Present while I was recovery from surgery this past winter.
When Christmas efforts become about giving rather than shopping you need to start early.

I've started looking for gifts for people, and I've started on my list, but I won't start actually shopping till about October/November, somewhere in there. This year I might do the whole Black Friday thing, see how that works out.

I have really no set time as to when i start. When I see something I know someone wants for Christmas I normally pick it up, it's better if you do it before the holiday is near though, it is always cheaper, and you find more things that you may be looking for!

Not early enough,I haven't even started. Every year I say I'll shop year round, or get an earlier start, yet here I am once again getting a slow start.
