to be a "Pearl Harbor type event" in order to gain popular support for a new foreign "War On Terror" ?

Do you believe that two relatively small aircraft brought them down or were they "helped down" through controlled demolition ?

Reply >>>> LISTEN UP MORON , when I said "relatively small" the relationship was THE SIZE OF THE AIRCRAFT COMPARED TO THE SIZE OF THE BUILDINGS.

READ AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR MOUTH IN GEAR.

I was not saying the aircraft themselves were small, I was comparing their size to the size of the buildings that they struck.

The buildings WERE DESIGNED TO TAKE SUCH ATTACKS BY EXACTLY THESE TYPE OF AIRCRAFT AND SURVIVE.

MORON.

People believe what they want to believe. Adolph Hitler said it best: tell a big lie, tell it often enough, and most people will believe anything. He also said, "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."

And it is unfortunate that so many people casually accept anything their government tells them without skepticism, doubt, or question. If we are to remain a free society, we must not allow our government to dictate what we see, what we hear, or what we believe. If we do, we will soon find ourselves living in a totalitarian government where our actions, words and thoughts are controlled.

For all those die-hard believers, consider how many times the U.S. government has lied to its people in the past:
a) The government has never satisfactorily explained the events surrounding Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, especially to those people who live there and witnessed the whole drama;
b) The Warren Commission was a whitewash that never proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Kennedy was killed by one lone, crazed assassin;
c) Our government lied to us about U-2 spy planes flying over the U.S.S.R. until Khrushchev shot one down and displayed it for all the world to see;
d) There is still speculation as to whether FDR knew about the Pearl Harbor attack in advance and did nothing, which involved us in World War II just as our allies wanted;
e) The government lied about American battleships being 'attacked' in the Gulf of Tonkin, which led us into the Vietnam War;
f) The government lied to Vietnam veterans about the effects of Agent Orange;
g) The Oval Office lied about a third-rate burglary at the Watergate Hotel until two enterprising young reporters uncovered the truth that forced a President to resign;
h) The government lied about 'weapons of mass destruction' in Iraq which led us to 'attack' another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States;
i) Our elected officials lied about 'secret' CIA prisons;
j) Our government lied about the torture and sexual abuse of 'detainees' until photographs were leaked to the press;
k) Elected official after elected official has lied about his engagements in extra-marital relationships; pedophile activities; 'earmarks'; 'pork' spending; 'fact-finding missions' that are nothing more than free vacations, courtesy of lobbyists; and all sorts of other malfeasance.

So WHY is it so hard to believe that the government might have lied to us about its participation in - or knowledge of - the 9-11 'terrorist attacks' which:
1. Stirred emotions and allowed the Bush administration to run rip shod over our Constitution and illegally, immorally and unjustifiably invade Iraq;
2. Paid off handsomely for Bush friend Larry Silverstein, whose Twin Towers were showing massive losses until he collected from the insurance companies after 9-11;
3. Gave Bush 'carte blanche' to circumvent the U.S. Constitution and turn America into a police state where citizens are presumed guilty until proven innocent;
4. Allowed the Bush administration unprecedented freedom to conduct wire taps without warrants;
5. Provided mutli-billion-dollar windfalls for many U.S. government war contractors, including those two 'newcomers' to the federal war trough: the Carlyle Group and Hallbiurton, both of whom have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House;
6. Let Bush establish a Hitleresque Department of Homeland Security to monitor citizens' activities under the guise of 'protecting' us from the 'evil empire'.

I'll repeat myself: IF we DON'T question authority, doubt the government press releases, or mistrust what our public servants tell us, we are in jeopardy of losing our most precious American freedoms: freedom of the press; freedom of speech; freedom to assemble; and freedom to "keep and bear arms" against a tyrannical and oppressive government. If you're one of the many 'naysayers' who blindly believe everything the government says, PLEASE - for your own freedom - do some research! -RKO- 08/17/07

I do not believe it was anything other than has been told: A horrible act of evil inspired by hatred of Americans. I do however question calling all who died heroes. It takes away from the ones who ran back into the buildings, or rushed the cockpit to hinder the terrorists from hitting their next target. There were the policemen and firemen who were called to the worst scene to occur on American soil. The people who went to work that day were victims. Some of the victims were also heroes. There have been many stories of workers who carried others down the stairs. Many went back in to try to aid in the rescue efforts only to perish. I do believe the media is guilty of trivalizing the word "Hero."
The aircraft would not had done the massive damage we saw had they not all had full tanks of fuel.

I believe that he is a good president because he is not after public opinion.So many politicians are nothing more than menpleasers.When we went into Iraq 95% of americans wanted to do just that.When Bush Sr. didn't go into Bagdad everyone thought he had made a mistake.Bush Jr. does and now he two has made a mistake.You can't please this nation no matter what the president does, or who the president is.I believe that GWB does what he feels is the right thing to do for this nation.That is more than I can say for a lot of polotitions today.

Once again No it wasnt created. The gov. can be rather dishonest but they're not going to launch 2 airplanes at a building that was probably created with their tax subsidies. Also I'm sure the US gov had army/navy recruiting & other govt services in the twin towers. Its not that uncommon for them to lease space in office buildings.

Also the post office for that part of Manhattan was also blown to shreads when the towers came down. Verizon also had a whole building of expensive optical switching equipment that was destroyed too. So my point is the Arabs are soo evil that the gov. doesent have to convince you otherwise. When they were shown on CNN dancing in the street while American mourned the thousands dead that was all the proof I needed for bombing the hell out of them!

You didn't even look at the article, did you?
I didn't think so.

And you think I'M biased? You're not even willing to listen or read anything that doesn't agree with your preconceptions. Talking to conspiracy theorists is a waste of oxygen.

No. I can't believe that an atrocity of that magnitude would ever be put into action by the US Government (I am not American). Americans should have more faith in their elected officials than to believe this fantasy.
