Its not just kids either, old folk are just as bad, and as for shop assistants who talk to each other whilst serving you!!!!!!

yeah... like those adverts for shops... and the staff are all happy and walk up to you and help you out.. but in real life they just gather in a small group and wait for you to leave.. and if you ask for something they all look at each other a laugh a bit.. like.. "wow im asking a question.. i must be well dumb.. you know stupider than you grown men working in comet still or whatever"...

I have noticed that, probably why they're always making mistakes when serving you in the shop, and it's mostly the old folk that are ignorant lately - if you hold the door open for them, they dont say thank you or anything, yet the kids do

I totally agree.

When I'm in a good mood I go shopping and smile at people and I am always polite but; more often than not, I either get a rude or negative response. I come home in a bad mood.

I encourage my children to respect people and to always be polite but they are constantly given bad examples by elders who expect them to be polite and courteous. I have always said, lead by example but the examples given by people nowadays are shameful.

I didn't ever in the past but people are so rude to everyone including me it just promotes answering them the same way.

I have been known to ask some of them "are you this nasty to everyone or is it just me". They look at me aghast and treat me well for that day. It is such a habit they don't even realize they are doing it.

i know what you mean, we went into a small furniture store about a year ago, all the salesmen were watching a football game (or some sport). i asked where the futons were and one just pointed to a far corner. we just walked out and went somewhere else. the place closed down about six months ago. go figure!

I have to agree. My favorites are people who are on their cell phone like the fate of nation rests on it..when they're checking out at the grocery, or paying a bill in person, or at the movie theater. Good lord people, NONE of you are that important, hang up the !@!#!! phone and put it on silent!!

Yeah. A lot of people are disrespectful and don't consider the feelings of others.
