Most restaurants don't do background checks. Also, it depends on what type of felony one has. If they have a violent one or its for drugs, the companies tend to over look those, especially if there's documentation that the person had some kind of anger counseling. If the felony is due to theft, then that one is a little harder to get a job with, but one can always look for a job that doesn't deal with handling money. Like office work, weather its answering phones or the mail room.
And whoever said people don't want criminals working for them that's not true. Companies are looking for ex cons or felons to work for them, they get a tax break from the government when they hire felons. But that person has to be enrolled in a program in order for the company to get those credits. You or whomever it is you asking for can go to 13th and Payne, its right across the street from Reserve Square, there's a place that felons can go to get job placement. They help them get their resumes together and everything.
Here is the address: 1701 East 13th Street Cleveland, Ohio 44114 phone number (216) 664-4673

It will be hard to get a job once you have a felony. I would say you need to look into starting your own buisness like a barber shop or a clothing store. If you cant do that, you should try to get into real estate and buy, fix up and sell homes. That way, you won't have to answer to anyone and worry about a background check.
